Wally Tomas
English

Wallace Tomas was born and raised in the North, graduating from Liverpool High School. After high school Tomas attended Sunyal Oswego University and Syracuse University. Before coming to Lemon Bay, Tomas taught at Lincoln Park, Port St Lucie High School, and Merritt Island High School. About five years ago Tomas moved to Englewood and started teaching English at Lemon Bay simply to "get away."

It is no wonder that Tomas moved to Englewood since as he jokingly put it, "My favorite part about teaching is summer vacation," and what better place to spend summer vacation then Englewood.

When not working, Tomas enjoys fishing or reading a good book. He would never have chosen any other career, unless he was a lottery winner so he would not have to suffer through grading papers, which is his least favorite part of teaching.

Although Tomas does not have any involvement with any Lemon Bay sports teams or clubs, he is a devoted spectator.

For 28 years Tomas has been teaching senior English classes, and it seems as if he is taking his father's advice "don't quit!" Tomas's goal for his students is to teach them to "Think for themselves and not to accept ideas without thinking."

Tomas is a well liked teacher here at Lemon Bay, and with the odds of winning the lottery, it doesn't seem like he will be leaving anytime soon.
