The youngest of four, Darrell Mark Roach was born in the historic city of Washington D.C, where he only lived for a year with his three older brothers. Although he doesn't really remember what living there was like, he enjoyed many of the summers that he spent going back to the city. Roach's childhood was a memorable time, nevertheless, 1955 became the year that Roach would begin his memories in Florida.
Roach became familiar with the city of Miami while he was attending the University of Miami for four years to obtain his bachelor's degree, and then was off to NOVA Southeastern University for two years, earning his master's degree in science education. However, 1980 was when Roach first became aquatinted with the Lemon Bay way of life.
Since his first year at Lemon Bay High School, Roach has taught a series of science classes such as biology, physical science, earth science, and anatomy/physiology, as well as TV Production 1-8. Although he doesn't sponsor any clubs, Roach coaches both the Girls' Tennis Team and the Girls' Golf Team. "I enjoy playing and coaching 'lifetime' sports." Roach has learned many helpful things during his time here at Lemon Bay.
"Everyday is different when teaching, and I am learning myself everyday. I consider myself a work in progress and a lifelong learner. I hope to challenge the students and athletes I work with, and hopefully help them become fully actualized life long learners." His hunger for excellence and love for teaching makes Roach a wonderful addition to the Lemon Bay staff.
