Jennifer Ragazzone
Math

Even though she is a new math teacher at Lemon Bay, Jennifer Ragazzone has four years experience in teaching. Ragazzone taught fifth and eighth grade at Laurel Oaks Academy in Port Charlotte.

Ragazzone, originally from Iowa, has lived in Florida for a majority of her life. After graduating from Lemon Bay, Ragazzone attended the University of Central Florida where she majored in health services administration. Ragazzone is "enjoying her time here at Lemon Bay" although before teaching, she thought being a health care administrator was her calling.

Ragazzone was excited to become a teacher at her alma mater although she kept in mind having fun this summer before school started again. "I enjoyed spending some time with my girls at the Nickelodeon Hotel and being with some of my friends."

Ragazzone is a role model to her students since she herself once walked these halls as a student. Her advice to students who are interested in becoming teachers is "Don't give up; stick with it because there is no job that is more rewarding than teaching." One way Ragazzone keeps students interested in the classroom is to incorporate reading strategies into math. She doesn't like to lecture a great deal in order that her students have time to ask questions and do their work.

Ragazzone loves working with teens and hopefully her knowledge in math and fun classroom modalities will help her students walk across the stage and receive a diploma from Lemon Bay just like she did when she was a student here.
