Sharon Ness contributes greatly to Lemon Bay with her teaching and coaching skills. Ness has been a teaching for ten years and has been a teacher at Lemon Bay for three years. She teaches world history and American history and would also like to teach psychology because, "I taught it in Massachusetts, and I think it is interesting subject matter." Aside from teaching, Ness has been coaching the girls cross country team for the three years she has been at Lemon Bay because she enjoys running in her spare time. Ness claims that she didn't always have the same career path.
"I did not always want to be a teacher; I wanted to be a lawyer or a political aide in Washington, DC." She also was interested in teaching at an elementary school because she loves children, but she enjoys her job teaching high school level history. Ness attended two different colleges. First she enrolled at North Adams State College in Massachusetts to obtain her bachelors degree. After that she attended Bridgewater State College, also in Massachusetts, and earned her masters degree. Following college she began teaching at a school in Massachusetts and coached girls cross country there as well.
When she is not teaching, running, coaching, or playing with her eight month old son Zachary, she is sitting down and reading a good book. Her favorite author is James Patterson and loves any book written by him. "They are very suspenseful, intriguing, and also page turners I can't set them down, and I can usually finish one in a day or two."
Ness is a strong believer in world peace, and if she could have one wish granted that is exactly what she would want. She would like to stop all of the fighting, dying, and bloodshed in the world.
Overall, Sharon Ness is a great teacher, coach, and mom.
