Gloria Bandy is an energetic person and a very effective teacher at Lemon Bay High School. For the majority of Bandys life, though, she had never even seen Florida.
Bandy spent her childhood in New York and attended Fordham University, where she earned her bachelor of science degree. Then she attended the prestigious Columbia University, where she received a master of arts degree. In New York, she taught as an ESE teacher for five years. When Bandy came to Florida, she became an English teacher. She has taught in Charlotte County for over 20 years.
Bandy moved to Englewood in 2005. She loves the peacefulness and tranquility of Englewood. She came here to teach English II and Intensive Reading. She specializes in teaching expository and persuasive writing.
Bandy is part of a job share position. She shares her classroom duties with Mrs. Lineberger, who has an extensive background in reading instruction. Lineberger teaches on Mondays and Fridays; Bandy is in the classroom Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.
Bandy works hard to keep her classroom amusing and at the same time serious about work the work that needs to be done. She hopes to keep her class from being forgotten. Trying hard to teach children and helping children, along with being a parent to three sons is a big job, but not too big for Gloria Bandy.
