Kelly Duncan
English

9th grade English teacher, Kelly Duncan was born in Newton, Massachusetts into a family with four children, two brothers and two sisters. Duncan and her family resided in Massachusetts for two years before moving to Vermont, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Florida. "I like the weather (other than hurricanes) a lot better!" stated Duncan of her move to the Sunshine State. four years of schooling in Vermont came before being hired at Lemon Bay High School.

Duncan enrolled at the University of Vermont, where she acquired her bachelors degree in secondary education and English. Upon her move to Florida in 2004, Duncan immediately posted her resume here at Lemon Bay. She teaches 9th grade English, and although she does not sponsor any clubs, Duncan spends her time getting involved in school sports. "This will be my 3rd season coaching for swimming, as well as coaching basketball for the past 2 seasons."

Many aren't aware of Duncan's past swimming career, for in truth, she swam during her entire high school experience, as well as her college years. "I love Coach Duncan," stated sophomore swimmer Adrienne Gordon. "I have learned so much from her, and I couldn't ever ask for a better coach." Swimmers placed under this athletic yet caring woman's wing have flourished to their full potential, constantly breaking their personal records and making their coach very proud of them.

Her experience here at Lemon Bay has been a very positive for this young teacher. "Well, it was my first real job so I've learned a lot about responsibility and professionalism." Anyone who has had the pleasure to be taught under Duncan all wish her the best of luck and hope that she will stay on for along time at Lemon Bay.
