Deborah D'Aprile
Science

Deborah D'Aprile came to Lemon Bay High School from Long Island, New York. She has only been a Florida resident for about nine months, and currently lives on the beach. "I am totally a beach bum." Before joining the staff at LBHS, D'Aprile taught at North Fort Meyers Academy of the Arts in Fort Myers, Florida, as well as Hughesville High School in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. D'Aprile loves to teach biology and has taught pretty much every sub topic of the subject under the sun!

"I mainly taught chemistry for quite a while; however, I have taught biology, microbiology, botany, forestry and environmental science as well." D'Aprile wanted to become a teacher because of her great fondness for young people, as well as her love for soccer. The new girls' head soccer coach played in college and has coached on all levels since 1994. "I also coached my own children as they were growing up." Although teaching and coaching bring D'Aprile great joy, she also has some other hobbies that fill her life with happiness.

Running, participating in turtle patrol, lifting, playing tennis, reading, listening to music, serving on missions trips and serving at her church are a few of the things that make D'Aprile smile. "I would also like to go to Italy in order to research my heritage, as well as go to France to visit the French Riviera. It is just so beautiful!" This ambitious woman also has many goals and expectations for herself that she hopes to accomplish during her lifetime. Becoming a doctor is high up on her list. D'Aprile also stated, "I want to always be a person of integrity and with high moral standards. I want to be the best Mom I can be for my family and my children. I want to be a good role model for my children and my students and to be obedient to God, but my biggest expectation is to live life to the fullest and strive for excellence!"

Although D'Aprile claims to be a "beach bum," she has many amiable qualities that make her an outstanding new addition to the Lemon Bay High School staff.
